About me!

 

I am Jawad Moe, and I was born on September 20, 1998, in Des Moines, Iowa. I was born hearing but later, I became sick. At that time my illness forced my hearing to fade away completely. So, instead of moving to Dubai, my family and I decided to move to Saint Louis, Missouri. We moved there because there is a deaf school called "Saint Joseph Institute for the Deaf". Moving to Saint Louis, Missouri was the only choice my family had because in Dubai, they do not have a school that provides accessibility for deaf people. From that point on, I decided to live here until I finish my college education. Growing up in America, with a big family, has been rough on me due to my race and deafness. But now, everything has been easy for my family. I identify as an American-Palestinian, RIT student and I am majoring in Computer Science. I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor’s program in Rochester, New York. I will stay in RIT until I earn my Bachelor’s degree.

The purpose of this blog is to represent an important project that I worked on during the Writing Seminar class.   My job is to find any objects that represent who I am. 

 

So, as you see all of my objects in the box and yet you are curious what each of my found objects means. 

 

My box that holds all my objects in it is made out of poor quality cardboard box. It shows that I grew up as a middle-class family being taught by my family to value the smallest things. As you noticed that the facing wall of the box inside is black with a small heart in the middle of the background. I have been stabbed a lot on my back plus I have gone through tough times that also forces me to become a bad version of myself but yet that's not who I am. I am on the process of becoming a better version of myself and show myself that I have a good heart. There are two flags that are conflicted with each other. The left flag represents Palestine flag and the right flag represents the Israel flag. Israelis and Arabs are striving over Gaza nonstop since 1948. As a true car enthusiast, my love for cars is strong but sadly, I have been pulled over many times. I have gotten so many parking tickets plus speeding tickets as you can see it in the box. You will see around arch made out of the plastic plate. The arch represents Saint Louis, Missouri known as my hometown. There are many found objects inside the box that I haven't explain yet.
